It's hard to write an overview when you've had the wide range of experiences that I have had. My background is pretty much as diverse as it comes, and I bring a unique perspective drawing on many experiences from the smallest of startups to Fortune 500 companies. The ability to cross-fertilize, taking a proven idea or concept from one field to apply it to another, or to synthesize by blending them, is a major advantage.At 7DS, I help institutional clients in real estate and related industries develop and implement corporate strategy. The "and implement" part is important, since the greatest strategy in the world isn't worth the paper it's written on unless it can be executed upon. They had a compelling product dealing with the growing online micropayments space, utilizing phone cards. I helped to create the marketing plan, refined the financial and business plans, negotiated with various partners (both content and platform) on key deals, and brought my experience growing a startup to the management team mix. With a key contract with a major telecom provider ready to be signed, and the B-round of capital infusion about to be closed... September 11th happened. The offices were located one block north of WTC, and everything was destroyed. Not a happy ending.

I oversaw the strategy and the day-to-day operations of the Scifi.com Network, the official website of the SciFi Channel as well as a number of affiliates. Managed a bi-coastal staff of over 60 and a $10m+ budget, growing traffic and content every month, while cutting costs, and developed online advertising strategy with the in-house advertising sales team. Also developed high concept cross-platform programming such as online video broadcast (fully five years before such things became common) and SciFi Sports (electronic gaming competition program, three years before G4-TechTV launched). Imagine where SciFi would be today if those had been implemented. Left when corporate strategy for interactive entertainment changed. -
