2024: Cofounding Websim, closing the gap between imagination and reality for the long tail of software creators.2023:I am consulting and writing a book about Continuous Onboarding, the process through which I influence user behavior and mental models through software product decisions. In other words, I craft learnable designs and help the user to find goal resonance with the app, creating a pathway from beginner to power user. I've worked with over a dozen startups to solve adoption and retention challenges in this way.As a behavioral product strategy and gamification consultant, I draw my inspiration primarily from behavioral science papers, game design analysis, and UX research. I'm particularly passionate about hypertext graph based tools that help me make sense of large quantities of seemingly disparate information, and have been a serious user of Bear, Notion, Roam, Obsidian, and Tana. I'm currently open to research, consulting, or employment opportunities that will build on the themes of my research project, Scaling Synthesis (scalingsynthesis.com). This includes tools for thought, note taking, productivity, end-user programming, and LLMs.
