My main tasks were as conceptual designer through to leading and co-ordination and development of designs with multidisciplinary teams both within and outside the practice. I was involved in negotiation and presentation to clients, planners and end users as well as running community/ client board consultations; in addition I was involved in bids for project funding on behalf of the client. I was involved in various procurement routes - Traditional Contracts [inc 2 stage tender with early contractor input in relation to buildability], Management Contracts, Design & Build etc. In terms of technical solutions, ASL invested heavily and were excellent in their best practice QA, knowledge base sharing, cad and workflow systems etc.Projects designed/ worked on have been shortlisted for and won several high profile awards inc. Roses, RIBA etc + published in several high profile journals. -

While working for this major Manchester based practice on work around the UK I learnt a considerable amount in terms of both design and business structure/ operation working on mixed use resi/ retail schemes, urban residential, and education schemes which allowed me to put into practice some of the research undertaken within academia. -
