Engineering Technologist
- Development, ongoing improvement facility asset management and lifecycle costing.- Develop and maintain an asset inventory. Part of the Asset Management Team. Provide reports on asset management planning, investment and budgeting, life-cycle costing and condition assessment. - Manages facility-related projects, including design calculations, quantity and cost estimates, code review and analysis, tender or RFP preparation, payment certificates, etc. Reviews technical work within the Facilities group.- Co-ordinates and supervises contractors and other personnel related to daily construction project activities; includes design, procurement, scheduling, cost control, on-site supervision, standard testing procedures, report writing and record keeping, tenant relations, assurance of work site safety and conformance to City Specifications and adherence to Civic, Provincial and Federal codes, by-laws and regulations.- Responsible for coordination of all permits - Works as a Project Manager on technical project teams for special assignments.- Reviews and confirms invoices from Contractors, Consultants, suppliers, standard purchase orders, etc, - Provides technical and CAD assistance and support for various area(s) of responsibility vital to the day-to-day operations of the City’s facilities and facility operations, including Events staff and major event set-up, when required.-Provides technical expertise to the entire Corporation. - Accessibility issues related to city facilities, and is the liaison for the division on the Accessibility Committee.- Preparation of cost estimates, projections, technical reports and recommendations for the City’s annual Operating and Capital Works Budgets. Direct responsibility for the City Hall budgets. -Maintains complete and accurate records of all current projects, and assists others within the division on processes.
