I specialise in asset and commodity sustainability due diligence and evaluations in relation to voluntary or mandatory legal obligations (RED II, EU Taxonomy, Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulations, EU Conflict Mineral Regulation, EU Timber Regulation). I have a proven track record of delivering sustainability due diligence for investment companies, international corporations and organisations.In the past 5 years projects I have led carbon credit due diligence projects, assessment of bioenergy energy installations against the EU Taxonomy and RED II and assessment of forestry assets. I have also contributed to developing a due diligence programme for tin, tungsten and tantalum (3T’s) from conflict-affected regions with the International Tin Association (ITA), named the iTSCi programme (www.itsci.org). This is an exceptional programme that achieved traction that started in one of the most difficult places in the World to operate. My role contributed to the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) award of a 100% alignment of the programme with OECD Due Diligence Guidance of Responsible Sourcing of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. EnviroSense, led by myself has a track record of successfully completed projects in the renewable energy industry including: - ISAE 3000 assurance engagements for companies demonstrating financial close as part of the application of the tariff guarantee of Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme Regulations 2018 (RHI). A total project value of > £300m- ISAE 3000 sustainability assurance engagement against the sustainability criteria of the RHI and Renewables Obligation Order 2009 (as amended) for energy plants over 1MW as part of their obligations with the energy regulator, Ofgem- ISAE 3000 sustainability assurance engagement for a Danish biodiesel producer as part of their obligation under the Danish Energy Agency- Independent assessment, verification and review of government-approved renewable fuel schemes operating in the UK.- International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) assessment of bioenergy and fuels.- GHG emissions accounting and verification for installations and fuels.Frequently work within EnviroSense involves timber due diligence in accordance with the European Timber Regulations (EUTR) 995/2010 as a government-recognised Monitoring Organisation, we advise a host of companies on their legal obligations, risk management and mitigation measures to be applied.
