Worked for TLC as a van driver for seven and a half years, then as a dispatcher for another year and a half. Duties included training new drivers, representing TLC at county functions when needed, public relations, assisting the funding services that use TLC's services, handled customer complaints, dispatching and scheduling of drivers on a daily basis. Also attended all required classes and obtained all required certifications for TLC.Did volunteer work for NC GenWeb by setting up and maintaining the Maiden, NC and Catawba County Black History websites. Here I did genealogy research, cemetery surveys and mapping and collected information to be shared on the websites. I also formatted all the information collected to be uploaded to these websites.Worked for eleven years for my parents in their restaurants, Bill's BBQ and East Park Fish Camp. I did a little of everything there, from cooking to menu planning and catering. Was an employee with them until their retirement.I have worked many jobs over the years; retail, food services, sewing furniture, making costumes and sewing apparel.I have served on the Board of Directors for the Lincoln County Historical Properties Commission. I also helped with the incorporation of the Buffalo Shoals Community Development Committee and also served as a board member.
