Surgical Colleagues is a hospital based partner and practice. Our only focus is Specialty Hospitalist Call for Orthopedics, Acute Care Surgery, Trauma and Neurosurgery. These are some of the most profitable service lines for hospitals, the most difficult to recruit for and will be key to filling acute care beds. We have made some changes to the traditional call models that allow us to deliver a superior, more cost effective service and drive some new revenue streams to offset our costs. We provide 24/7 Specialty ED Call, follow-up care (via hospital based clinic), rounds, consults, inpatient and outpatient surgeries, discharge planning and key infrastructure to support practice. Relieving the local specialists of call will allow them to accept new patients faster and do more surgeries at the hospital. Improving call coverage will decrease out-migration resulting in more emergent surgeries. Everyone wins; the hospital sees more surgeries, local physicians see more patients and patients receive better service.We have also broadened our scope of care to include and support an elective component to augment specialty coverage for hospitals that want/need to improve patient access. Integrating our emergent and elective models has provided tighter physician alignment, new revenues, lower costs and recruiting advantages.

-Responsible for the oversight of Acute Care Services programs from Central region to East Coast (Hospital-Medicine, Intensivist, Post-Acute Care, OBGYN, Orthopedic and General Surgery). -Direct reports include Vice Presidents of Operations (VPO), Program Administrators, Directors of Operations and clinic support staff. -Triad structure design offers strong physician/administrative operational management. -Serves as a member of, or a consultant to, any task force that reviews new or evaluates current products/services used by VPOs and/or are presented to clients. -Essential resource for at-risk contracts which may include metrics and staffing review, action plan oversight, site visits and other remediation activities. -Participates in Business Development activities.

-Responsible for the oversight and management of all hospital employed and contracted physician services, including hospital medicine, anesthesiology, emergency medicine and community based primary and specialty care providers. -Duties included physician recruitment/retention, contracting, immigration, patient flow and experience, revenue cycle, performance improvement, regulatory oversight, co-management, physician governance, and leadership development of all hospital owned and physician-related staff and services. -Reported directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

-Responsible for the strategic planning, recruitment, contract management, immigration, marketing/community outreach and operations management of all hospital employed and contracted physicians/mid-level providers, including Adult and Pediatric Hospitalist Services, Anesthesiology and Behavior Health. -Duties included budget preparation, productivity oversight, human resources support, training and education, compliance and quality improvement, promotion of services, contract renewals and incentive management.
