When I first started working in social care over 20 years ago I quickly came to realise that in order to really make a difference to people requiring support, innovation and enthusiasm were amongst the key factors. I have been in management positions for the last 18 years and the last of 10 of which at executive level. I am a solution focused leader who adapts my management style to develop the best attributes from those who I work with. I have a successful track record of implementing change across organisations to improve the outcomes of people supported. This is achieved through modelling to my workforce my passion for Person Centred Practice, ensuring that individuals with complex needs have an integral and positive role in their communities.

Regional DirectorCarevisions Sep 2005 - Oct 2007Provided therapeutic support in small homes for children who had suffered severe trauma and abuse in southern Scotland, Stirling area and northern England. With owners support closed down North West region to focus on Scotland. • Took on 12 services (homes) for 30 children (aged up to 16) all under care orders, served by 100 staff.• The Homes, all in rural areas, provided a range of methodologies for helping mostly city children to a new life based on real values and good behaviour and a sound education (in local schools). • Achievements included a new vision for staff and opening three new homes and a special school for very difficult children.
