• Assist the P.E. teacher with physical education class 5th-9th• Coach girls’ volleyball/basketball, Assistant coach boys’ middle school basketball, high school basketball/boys’ and girls’ soccer • Create/Maintain communications with core administration, teachers, parents, and athletic participants.

Assist the P.E. teacher with physical education class for approximately 60 to 100 Kindergarten thru 4th grade students. Conduct the Pre-k class for 15 students. Participate in planning and staffing special events with the assigned school team.

Use provided curriculum to meet and exceed the educational goals of a small private school second grade class. Teach Physical education for all students in the private school while training prospective physical education teachers.

I feel that I approach physical education in a unique way. I have individual knowledge of my students. I adapt the activities to introduce them to sports and physical activities without fear of injury or failure. I encourage positive peer interaction without fear of judgement. I also use brain gym exercises to create a cognitive connection to the activities. I hope that the positive experiences lead to healthy life habits.

I encouraged my students to learn through experiences. I knew the more senses involved in an activity would lead to greater retention of the information. The activities were tailored to the students and many times the moment. I planned flexible activities to allow for organic teachable moments.

I was both the site director and the summer camp director. I managed the adult sports, youth sports, concessions, and aquatics. This consisted of mainly of maintaining methods that were already in place. I did create new programs and improve some existing programs. I was chosen for the position based on my childcare and management experience. I managed every aspect of the summer program. The program had a history of debt, poor quality, and failure. I started fresh with staffing, training, enrollment, daily planning, and direct supervision. In both positions I communicated with parents, staff, community representatives, board members, and program participants. The program was out of debt in the first month of operation and gained a positive reputation. I left for my family when a new experienced YMCA CEO was found to take over. The site was closed within a year or so.
