I'm a 2017 graduate of Simmons University with an M.S. in Library and Information Science, currently working part-time in a public library, and formerly in a small academic library. My main areas of interest are public and academic libraries, but I'm potentially interested in other types of libraries and related areas, including special collections and archives. Prior to this, most of my career experience has been in the secretarial area (with more than 15 years of legal secretarial experience, mainly in general litigation, insurance and municipal defense, and asbestos litigation). I possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, am proficient on both Microsoft and Mac platforms, and have considerable experience with customer service. In addition, I have a background in non-clerical areas such as historical research, historical clothing , sewing costumes as well as everyday clothing, reconstruction of old recipes, gluten-free baking (a necessity, no thanks to celiac), concert photography, using targeted marketing to sell t-shirts online, and small-scale catering, and have dealt with a wide range of personality types, both at work and socially, over the years. Oh, and I can read cursive handwriting as well! (Don't laugh--if you don't know and can't read cursive, you'll have a serious problem dealing with older documents of all types, especially personal correspondence.)
Listed skills include Litigation, Social Media, Civil Litigation, Microsoft Office, and 33 others.
