Various specialities in OB/GYN, cardiovascular, orthopedic, wound care management ,G.I. surgery and procedures, neurovascular, and Pediatrics. OSUMC is a 195 bed hospital with 8 Preop and 8 PACU beds . Use of Abbott glucometer , Pyxis med administration and Epic electronic charting, and use of language line video for interpretation. A Trauma III hospital in the center of Tulsa. Worked with a dynamic staff of coworkers , physicians and anesthesiologists.

I work PACU both inpatient and outpatient with adults and pediatrics. There is a separate general unit and an orthopedic unit. Often use Alaris Pumps, PCA pumps, pain balls and nerve blocks for pain management for both inpatient and outpatient areas. Miami Valley South hospital offers a wide range of advanced inpatient and outpatient care. The services include emergency and Level III trauma care, heart care (including cardiac catheterization), maternity care, a spine and joint center, and sports medicine services. Portable language interpretation by Martti is available for use in both units. Martti is proficient in deaf and hard of hearing individuals along with various languages with both phone and video communication.

Pelvic and reconstructive surgery unit. Womens center for incontinence and pelvic surgery. Treats women with urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence and other pelvic floor disorders. Nursing staff rooms each patient overviewing medications and pertinent history. Pre-op and post care instructions reviewed along with voiding and fecal diaries. Nursing performs urinalysis with multistix and clinitek analyzer(trained), voiding trials, bladder scans, post residual voiding catherization, assists with procedures and patient return calls with medication prescriptions to pharmacy. Medications given as needed for patient care. Procedures include vaginal and rectal exams, Botox, Bulkamid, Urostym and simple cystogram, Cystourethroscopy and Interstim Medronic devices and other office procedures. Cyracom and GLOBO use of phones or video interpretation or physical interpreter for language barriers are implemented. Precepted a new hire RN , EMT student and MA.
