The primary job responsibilities of an Emergency Management Officer include the identification of emergency or disaster situations occurring throughout the state and coordinating response activities involving state resources. An EM Officer collects, evaluates, and disseminates complete and accurate information regarding potential, current, on-going emergencies and/or disaster situations. These responsibilities are applicable during all phases of emergency operations, including response, recovery, preparedness, and mitigation. I also serve as the Training Officer. Training all new EMOs in the processes and procedures for collecting, evaluating and disseminating information regarding incidents that occur in NC.
