I have ten years teaching experience working with a variety of disabilities and age groups. This has included orthopedic and physical disabilities including those using adaptive equipment in order to be successful in daily living situations. I have worked with a variety of agencies to coordinate related services and have managed the supervision of staff as well as assisted as a mentor for student teaching as well as entry year teachers.I have also volunteered and served on a variety of non-profit organizations as a coordinator and director. This has included the establishment of the Special Olympics in the county for which my students resided. I have experience in grant writing, non-profit applications, and administrative duties for the non-profit industry. I have volunteered for many committees and have extensive experience in event planning as well as fundraising and sponsorship.I completed my Master's Degree in Sport Studies, and have worked as an Intervention Learning Specialist for a Division I school providing academic support for student athletes identified with Learning Disabilities. I have been fortunate enough to utilize both my educational experience and background in sports in a related career field.I have experience in Research Methods and my research has included an interest in motor skill development as well as classification systems in sport based on ability.
