I am the founder and principal consultant at RAE Consulting, an advisory group of higher ed practitioners driven by the belief in the transformative power of education to improve social and economic mobility for students and their families. With more than 20 years of postsecondary experience, I have worked closely with higher education membership organizations, and their diverse networks of colleges and universities, to understand how and under what conditions equity-focused transformation is possible to generate knowledge and apply evidence to strengthen organizational capacity, improve organizational business models, and reimagine institutional systems, policies, and practice. Prior to this role, I served as Executive Director of Student Success at the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AASCU) a Washington, D.C. based higher education association representing nearly 400 public colleges and universities and their 2.9 million students. There she provided strategic and operational oversight of AASCU’s 17M grant funded student success portfolio focused on blueprinting, validating, launching, and scaling a comprehensive cohort model designed to serve as an integrated framework enabling institutions to prioritize equity and accelerate transformation. Before that, I served as Director of AASCU’s Frontier Set (FS) initiative working collaboratively with 31 colleges, universities, and state systems committed to transforming how they operate and contributing knowledge to the field and as the Director for AASCU’s Re-Imagining the First Year of College (RFY) initiative partnering with 44 colleges and universities focused on institutional innovations that dramatically improve the first-year experience. My academic background includes a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University. I have also completed a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from St. Edward’s University.
