An independent oil and gas producer since 1980, Robin brings multi-faceted oil industry experience to the table.  He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in geology and then served as a U.S Air Force fighter pilot for 6 years during Vietnam. Soon after his return to the U.S. and release from military service he began his career as a landman with Anadarko, and subsequently spent 12 years as a company landman/manager/VP and 8 years as an independent consultant, operator and producer before joining the national landman's association (for 17 years) where he served its 12,000 members as Director of Education, then as its COO and as COO of the NAPE Expo.   Mr. Forte' has taught and served as an industry consultant and expert witness on the JOA, contracts, federal units, pooling, lease interpretation and sales, appraisals and negotiations all across the U.S. and in Canada.  He has been frequently published by the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the Landman magazine and has been a visiting professor at the Universities of Oklahoma, Tulsa, Maryland and Texas.  He recently taught a seminar at the Colorado Realtors Land Institute on the dominant mineral estate. He describes himself as a very small time oil producer with properties in Texas, Colorado, Arkansas, Kansas and Pennsylvania and has been widely regarded as the "landman's landman" and the "land guru" for many years.
