I manage and provide feedback to multiple staff on executing research, data collection, analysis, and report writing, which allows current and new staff to significantly contribute to projects with less oversight than necessary. I also design research studies on multiple P-20 education topics, such as K-12 teacher shortages, lead in child care facilities and trauma-informed care for children, resulting in the development of impactful reports for congressional leadership. I develop and implement several types of data collection methods, such as designing and executing a survey of Head Start grantees that allows for the accurate and efficient collection of qualitative and quantitative information. In addition, I have been lead author or co-authored six reports, resulting in multiple recommendations that improved how the Department of Education and other agencies provide services to various constituent groups, including children enrolled in child care programs. Lastly, I collaborate with internal and external stakeholders that contributes research, data, and information for reports; for example, I developed and implemented focus groups on a program that supports children with special needs and their families.

I co-authored four reports that led to recommended proposals for improvements at the Department of Education, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. As part of this work, developed and implemented research designs for multiple studies, I developed and implemented research designs for multiple studies, which included collecting qualitative data, analyzing policy documents, and managing focus groups. I also presented key findings for multiple reports to congressional staff.

I managed three interns and their research into various K-12 education projects, including college and career ready graduation requirements, as they drafted and finalized white papers, issue briefs, and memos. I also prepared white papers and memos on K-12 education and City Council legislation that D.C. State Board of Education members used for monthly public meetings and to inform their votes on key issues. I collected, documented, and analyzed qualitative data and communicated findings orally and in writing to board members under strict deadlines, which they used as they met with constituents on topics affecting their constituents.

I worked on a project conducting analysis on National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) data and presented results. I managed daily operations of the Education Statistics Support Institute Network Task 15 project and ensured that projects and deliverables were submitted on time and on budget. I guided coworkers’ development of research studies and reports, such as the analysis of National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) data in multiple subject areas, for client’s use internally and during briefings to the press and public. I also led weekly client meetings, which informed clients about deadlines, current and upcoming projects, and budget, which resulted in positive client relationships and additional work for the company and team

I presented on complex topics, such as report writing and report review processes and standards, to various stakeholders, including university professors that lead teacher training programs. I also collaborated with half a dozen representatives from multiple P-12 teaching organizations on trainings and report reviews, leading to stronger relationships across organizations. In addition, I oversaw stakeholders as they review reports on teacher training programs, resulting in more programs being approved to train teachers in subjects such as elementary education and English as a Second Language.

I established comprehensive policies regarding grading, assessment and lesson planning, classroom management and coordinated work of ninth (9th) and tenth (10th) grade teachers. I designed lesson and unit plans as well as original assessments and mentored teachers regarding students, curricula, and assessments.

As a founding faculty member of the Baltimore Freedom Academy I planned and implemented a Government curriculum based on three themes: revolution, majority versus the minority, and responsibility and the community. I also developed lesson and unit plans that supported the curriculum and the school's themes and planned original assessments designed to challenge students.

I taught six, 10th grade U.S. Government in which I wrote student-centered lessons that related to their lives. I also designed original assessments based on subjects studied, such as a project on the Bill of Rights.
