The MAC for TCO FGP is a combined team of engineers from both Honeywell and Mustang based in Mustang offices in Woking. The project has recently moved into the execution stage.Previously PAS Design Lead during FEED and an extended bridging phase. Responsible for the delivery of complete template designs and execution processes for all systems to support roll out and design development of the design of the control, SIS and Fire & Gas systems as well as the process control network.

Front office based design engineer for the Steam Plant utility for an Alumina refinery in the Middle East. Based in South Korea to produce the control system design (Functional Specifications for both DCS and SIS/BMS) for four dual fuel boilers with wet FGD treatment plant. Honeywell Australia operated as MAC for the project and as such were responsible for much of the control designs as well as the control system implementation, participating in HAZOPs, CHAZOPs, SIF review, SIL assessment and design reviews for all packages associated with the plant.

Lead engineer on the first wellhead RTU system implemented with a new Honeywell acquired RTU system. This is a single project assignment for Honeywell Middle East to iron out design problems relating to the integration of a newly acquired product into the Honeywell Experion DCS system and ensure delivery of operational and compliant resolution within already compromised timescales.The specific problems in relation to the integration of the new product to Experion portfolio included RTU product design, RTU ATEX certification, DNP3 protocol interface development both at the server end and at the RTU, working closely with all the product development teams to ensure delivery of these developments in line with the project specification and schedule.

Lead engineer on the Utilities team for the Pearl Shell GTL project at Ras Laffan City in Qatar. This is currently the largest control systems project in the world and the Utilities area is the largest of the areas into which the project has been divided. The control system being used is the Honeywell Experion Process Knowledge System. Responsibilities include overall design authority for the Utilities area - hardware and software, responsibility for schedule and overseeing a team of over 110 engineers spread over 3 offices at various stages of the project.

Lead engineer on the production of a Front End Loading study for the replacement of an Emerson RS3 control system with a Honeywell Experion Process Knowledge System for an onshore crude oil stabilisation and NGL fractionation plant. The study entailed development of high level specification for the requirements of the replacement system and production of a strategy for the implementation of the cut-over works without impacting plant production.

Control Systems engineer working on the design of the extension to the Organic Synthesis Plant at Pfizer Global Manufacturing, Sandwich. Duties entailed development of design and test specifications and prototyping of new phases and devices for the new equipment being installed as part of the plant extension and specification for the modifications required to existing plant in order to integrate the extended system into the existing facility.The extension to the facility comprised 3 Siemens Apacs controllers providing controls for 6 additional process vessels, 3 temperature control units and assorted services for solids, liquids and powders charging to the new and existing plant. In addition, concurrently with installation of the new equipment, the existing HMI system was completely replaced migrating from GE FanucFix32 to iFix. Involvement with this was mainly in the development of the system architecture and liaison with the HMI developers with regards to the development of specifications and process requirements.

Control Systems engineer working on the design of the Fire & Gas system for a Gas Compressor Station. The requirement for the Fire & Gas system was to develop a design compliant with BS5839 (Fire Detection Systems), SIL 1/2 requirements in line with IEC 61508 / 61511 as defined by a client Hazard Identification process after conducting a fire and gas Hazard Study of the installation with reference to operational practices and particular risks arising from particular activities performed in the specific areas of the installation.From this "blank canvass" evaluation a functional design complete with proposed detection and protection systems was produced. A detailed design was produced and implemented as part of a Siemens PCS 7 integrated compressor control, shutdown and fire and gas control system.Further duties included taking a central part in the development of the overall system architecture and design / specification of data flows between the PCS 7 systems and the various third party systems for compressor efficiency, emissions evaluation and reporting, centralised operation and records storage.

primarily preparing evidence for a public hearing concerning the planning consent for two public incineration plants in Ireland. The evidence took the form of a general explanation of the process used in the development of general industrial control systems with particular reference to current best practice, European and International standards pertaining to the safe operation of such control systems with respect to emissions control. The purpose of the evidence being to allay local fears as to the controllability of the incineration and as such detailed understanding of the proposed control system design was required in order to confirm that the control philosophies employed were all standard industrial processes that had well proven track records both in the incineration field and other industrial applications.
