• Responsible for leading Australian coal mine cost estimation process, defining cost methodology and managing Australian coal mine cost model.• Ongoing assessment of long term coal supply from both operating mines and projects in Australia. Forecasting includes assessment of effective infrastructure capacity on existing systems and future infrastructure requirements. Led client and broader industry contact in relation to supply and supply costs.• Part of team that built and Russian Coal Supply Service• Heavily involved in the transition of product suite from Barlow Jonker to Woodmac brand including design of Coal Supply Service and the creation of the Coal GEM product.• Part of 2-man India coal market service team responsible for forecasting demand for metallurgical and thermal coal in India as well as producing and maintaining a 300+ mine coal supply database (until June 2008).• Undertook ad hoc consulting roles including expert witness testimony at Final Offer Arbitration in June 2009.

• Undertook as part of a project team, cost estimation of all operating coal mines in Qld and NSW during 2003, 2005 and 2006. Costs estimated on a free-on-board (FOB) basis.• Led the production of annual multi-client report on metallurgical coal demand in 2005 and 2006, including country iron and steel demand assessments, blast furnace and coke plant production and coal supply forecasts.• Led the production of the first multi-client Indian coal profile in 2005, which included energy demand profiles; coke, iron and steel production forecasts, and domestic and imported coal supply assessments. • Various consulting assignments including:• Numerous consulting assignments in India such as supply strategies for Ultra Mega Power Projects (in partnership with KPMG) for Tata Energy and Reliance Energy.• Technical due diligence of three Vietnamese coal mines; due diligence of geological resource and reserve data at each mine and assessment of the management of the exploration, sales and marketing functions.• Due diligence on coal mines and projects in Australia.• Detailed review of sales and marketing function of a mine in Indonesia.• Analysis of domestic coal suppliers to NSW and Queensland power generators.• Numerous analyses of long term coal exports from Australian & International coal suppliers (mines and projects), and necessary infrastructure requirements.

• Responsible for the formulation and implementation of AQC’s marketing strategy for the sale of 1.15Mtpa of thermal coal.• Successfully negotiated a rail transport agreement for 1.3mtpa with Queensland Rail including reduced freight rates and take or pay provisions.• Managed sales pricing, short- and long-term contract negotiations and customer relations as well as the supervision of marketing agents in Japan.• Managed the company’s foreign currency exchange risk exposure through forward exchange contracts totalling USD15Million in 2002.• Provided technical support to the mine management team.• Secured sales contracts enabling an increase in production from 620,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) in 2000 to 920,000tpa in 2001 and 1.15Mtpa in 2002.• Broadened export customer base from a total of two customers in 2000 to six in 2002 including two of Japan’s largest electric power companies.• Replaced low margin domestic sales with export sales enabling an increase in net income from approx. A$150K in 2000 to approx. A$9M in 2001 and A$15M in 2002 (estimate).

• Reporting to the Project Director, responsible for management of consultants, legal counsel on various projects, liasing with state and local government officials, and landholder compensation negotiations.• Responsible for obtaining all licences, permits and approvals required for the commencement of construction of the Kogan Creek Power Project including the Kogan Creek mining lease and associated environmental authorities; development approvals, permits to occupy and easements required for the water pipeline construction; water licences for groundwater extraction; generation authority and Foreign Investment Review Board approval.• Obtained formal approval from the Project lenders’ technical advisor regarding the Kogan Creek geological model and the preliminary mining plan.• Responsible for planning and supervision of coal exploration programme within the Kogan Creek Coal deposit.

• Responsible for all geological activities at the mine site including supervision of the contract miner, mine planning and reserve estimation, maintenance of geological database and quality control.• Administered land tenure and mining tenements, management of ROM stockpile and day to day scheduling of haulage contractor, Queensland Rail and Port of Brisbane.• Responsible for the recovery of geological database and format conversion of all files allowing remodelling of the Wilkie Creek deposit and review of the entire geological reserve.• Revised short and medium term mine plan enabling the delay of mining of high cost blocks during a thermal coal market downturn.• Undertook study of coal seam quality resulting in the redirection of an historically ‘domestic’ quality seam to export product

• Based in Jakarta, completed coal exploration and mine technical reviews in Sumatra and Kalimantan for the Tanjung Jati ‘B’ Power Project.• Based in Bhubaneswar, Orissa, worked with the Hirma Power Project team to produce technical reviews of ‘project-linked’ coal mines operated by Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd.• Assisted in the negotiation of Fuel Supply Agreements for Hirma project.• Analysed the proposed coal rail transportation system, power station coal handling processes and proposals for use of power station ash.• Completed fuel supply analysis for the Keti Bandar Project in Pakistan, including reviews of potential coal suppliers and shipping costs as well as coal supply contract and charter party reviews.
