Position – Technical DirectorBusiness – The manufacture of automotive parts for braking, fuel, and electrical systems.Customer Base - Volvo, Scania, MAN, DAF, Iveco, Nissan Diesel, Isuzu, TATA, Responsible for the development of the company’s existing range of products ensuring that they are compliant to International, European and National Standards.Managed turnover growth from 12 million to 27 million by developing the technical department from four employees in 1999 to twelve in 2008. Created an internal structure of key account managers supported by ancillary staff of CAD, laboratory and production engineering. Developed two satellite sites in China and India which included:- Fully aware of Quality and Environmental Management Systems such ISO 9000, TS1694 and ISO 14001.Travelled extensively, promoting the company’s products in Europe, Russia, Japan, China and India. AchievementsIntroduced fuel, coolant, clutch, and power steering and dipstick fluid systems into the company’s product range and this new range accounted for 30 percent of the company’s turnover in 2008.Achieved preferred global supplier status at Cummins and PACCAR for fuel systems. This range of products was equivalent to twenty percent of group turnover rising to thirty five percent in 2012 and was based in facilities in the U.K., China, India and a new assembly plant in the U.S.Develop a new air brake tubing system for use in Russia which was validated independently at minus 60 degrees centigrade. This was the first major contract for air brake pipe to be awarded to the Allen Group in five years and was worth over £600,000 p.a. Obtained quality and supply approval from Daimler Benz to manufacture air brake coils worth £750,000 per annum.Project managed the building of the Allen facilities in China and India including the transfer of extrusion, thermoforming and assembly technology.
