In the Legal, Security-e-Discovery-Forensics Lab, working projects and reconciling spreadsheets, verifying information from employees’ hard drives which are currently on hold in the legal department. Verifying serial numbers, model numbers, employees’ IDs and multiple other information, while doing a complete inventory of the company hard drives wherein ethical codes have allegedly been violated by employees.

Process, submit and track submission of claims to various trusts for payment of settled asbestos claims. These are bankrupt corporations with trusts set up to pay claimants for their asbestos injuries from working with and/or around asbestos containing products. Claims are submitted to trusts which can take 6-12 months to obtain an offer. If the claim is not approved there are steps taken to cure deficiencies which involves heavy researching with multiple resources. Maintaining and updating database to run queries in order to gather client information to send out required documents, i.e., releases, medical records, affidavits to clients to identify the products they were exposed to at the specific jobsites; employment affidavits, etc. The position also involves copying, scanning, faxing and filing, as well as speaking with clients or the heirs/beneficiaries if it concerns probate matters to review the status of their cases.

Paralegal/Negotiator in Business Resource Center for General Motors Corporation. Specialized case handler for the Business Resource Center of General Motors. Under the Early Resolution Program, attempt to settle claims in a timely manner to avoid litigation by negotiating a settlement. Review documents and vehicle information under State Lemon Laws. Interface with dealerships, field personnel, legal counsel and engineering departments regarding conflict resolution. Complete mandated and voluntary buyback transactions within mandatory time frame requirements of each state and ensure the required documents are sent to the appropriate regional personnel prior to specified date. Advise regional personnel of the repurchase location and comply within specified time frames to prevent financial penalties. Coordinate scheduling of hearing, representation, third party contacts and preparation of documents regarding Lemon Law. Review and resolve issues following lawful guidelines. - Research breach of vehicle warranty concerns.- Assess cases comparing completed vehicle repairs to lemon law.- Negotiate small settlements at a pre-determined level.- Analyze financial data to determine repurchase payment to the owner of the vehicle (i.e. loan/lease payments, usage deduction).- Negotiate with attorneys on settlement matters.
