Dorland Healthcare Information was the firm that first published a medical dictionary in the 1800s. In the 20th Century, prior to the internet, they published extensive medical and law resource books annually -- such as a directory of physicians in the country, a directory of medical insurance companies in the country, a directory of lawyers and firms in the country; and a directory of nurse case managers. Knowing the Internet would in time lead to the digitalization of their medical and legal directories, they wanted to remain ahead of the curve and brought me on board to develop and launch a business-to-business national magazine for nurse case managers (which I did in partnership with the Case Manager Society of America), as well as consumer healthcare magazines -- most notably a magazine geared to a million consumers of 35,000 independent pharmacies associated with AmerisourceBergen across the United States. We developed a team of national healthcare writers, designers and ad sales representatives that worked alongside the core company which produced the industry resource guides previously mentioned.
