Working with the Production, Procurement, Sales and Marketing departments on developing an activity based standard cost process and updating standard costs in SAP. Am working with the IST team on system process updates to COGs, process improvements, inventory control and efficiency reporting in all manufacturing areas.

•Assist the Accounting Manger in the management of the day-to-day operations of the project Finance Department, includes banking activity/reconciliation, payment processing/posting, account research, and project specific financial reporting.•Manage Accountants/Payment Processors including potential for additional staff in the future.•Provide support to the Customer Service Representatives for accounting related research issues.•Implement PierPASS/PortCheck and VESystems procedures and policies in the Customer Service Center work environment.•Train Accountants/Payment Processors on current PierPASS/PortCheck and VESystems procedures and policies.•Guidance to Accountants/Payment Processors for resolution of escalated issues and/or phone calls from customers regarding financial issues.•Understand PierPASS/PortCheck exemptions and related issues in VESystems’ VTX System.

•Work with the Executive and Leadership Teams in preparing annual budget – 2005 $87.6MM, 2006 $93.5MM, 2007 $89.2MM, 2008 $82.2MM.•Analyze, establish and maintain standard cost for manufactured, distributed and co-pack items – approximately 2500.•Responsible for performing analysis of profitability for new Brand/product launch as well as existing items.•Evaluate finished goods, raw material and labor variances on a continual basis with managing the monthly inventory of same.•Work with the finance team in preparing journal entries, account reconciliation and review of financial statements monthly, quarterly and annual close•Perform monthly analysis of cost center activity against budget•Responsible for product item base by entering new and maintaining existing products. •Maintain capital expenditures and fixed assets•Perform daily banking functions •Manage staff of three full-time and one part-time associates

•Responsible for month end journal entries, bank and payroll account reconciliation, wip calculation, balance sheet and income statement account reconciliation and review of final financial reports. •Maintained accurate accounting of capital expenditures and short/long term debt. •Prepared daily bank deposits and posting such through accounts receivable module and past due collection processing. •Back up resource for payroll, purchasing, accounts payable and contract administrator positions. •Perform weekly job cost analysis on jobs in progress and final analysis of completed jobs. •Generated change orders for non-contract extras as well as service orders – determine overhead and profit margin. Contract range $50,000 to $5,000,000. •Accountable for monthly sales tax reporting, quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting, processing of w2’s, quarterly fuel tax refund and 1099’s.

•Managed standard cost system. •Evaluated the labor and materials variances monthly. •Accountable for maintaining inventory control, disbursement procedures, invoice and “scrap” processing analysis, bill of material audits and supervision and organization of annual physical inventory. •Participated in process improvement through quarterly “lean” manufacturing kaizen events and monthly ISO 9000/2001 audits. •Responsible for month end journal entries, balance sheet, bank and payroll account reconciliation and review of final financial reports. •Maintained accurate accounting of capital projects and expenditures. •Performed the functions of Controller for two (2) three (3) month periods and Materials Manager for six (6) months. •Supervised accounting team of three full-time and four temporary employees.
