About Robin Wright

I love hosting dinner parties, and at some point during the meal I will invariably call out, “let's look it up on google scholar!” (My guests love an impromptu literature review, I promise). There is nothing better to me than the start of a hunt for new information and the promise of sharing with others what I have found. Whether working on policy and non-profit development, completing a PhD in geography, teaching in the classroom, or practicing Danish with my family, I am driven by a desire to make knowledge actionable. As much as I enjoy reading, I don’t want to keep my head in research all day (just some of it!). One of the most rewarding aspects of my work–as a teacher, facilitator, and mentor– is guiding people through the process of learning something new that will be meaningful to their own work and life. Creating a research plan, leading courses and workshops, designing agendas and activities, developing tool kits, writing up and communicating findings—you name it, I love it.When I do get lost in a book all day, I revel in speculative fiction, and I am always game to geek out over a new N.K. Jemisin novel. If you have a great sci-fi recommendation, send them my way!I am currently exploring new avenues for putting knowledge to work, and I am looking to connect with others who are passionate about finding creative ways to activate knowledge and empower people with the skills and perspective they need to make change.
