For more than 30 years I was a part of Butzel Long’s media team - an active force in media law on the state and national levels. Butzel routinely handles all aspects of the legal challenges faced by the media industry, and advises a variety of media organizations as they seek to serve the public interest. Butzel's clients are traditional media outlets, digital information providers, and emerging technology clients seeking advice on data protection and cybercrimes.

I served on the Board of Community Legal Resources (now Michigan Community Resources or MCR) for 15 years, including as Board Chair. MCR's mission is to support and empower community organizations in Michigan that serve low-income individuals and communities, with an emphasis on community economic development, by providing pro bono legal services and technical assistance. Since its inception in 1998, MCR volunteers have contributed more than $11,000,000 in pro bono legal services to over 900 nonprofit organizations building affordable housing, attracting new businesses, feeding and sheltering the homeless, and mentoring youth throughout Michigan.
