I have always had a curious mind and somewhat odd look on life. I have often observed how things seem to relate to each other and am always intrigued by new inventions and how they promote human wellbeing. My default nature is to make people feel comfortable and relaxed. Completing my Civil Engineering and Computing degree paved the way to use those skills in technical analysis, construction and production management, sales and in continuous improvement principles. This was over a decade of experience in a range of work environments, principally for the one organisation.My brief stint in the waste industry illustrated to me first hand the importance of how we should ‘Mother’ Nature in all aspects of living on this planet. Taking on an ambitious new business in the form of a mobile coffee van in 2004, I reverted to my intent of making people feel comfortable and relaxed all while providing a great coffee experience. Some technical principles in civil engineering transferred beautifully to the art of a great tasting espresso! Almost 19 years later…I’m still enjoying it.Nonetheless a lightbulb moment of mine that hasn’t been dismissed quickly (there have been plenty) came around 5 years ago. Upon returning from a bike ride it brought back memories of almost 40 years prior, in that the bicycle seat hasn’t evolved to a comfortable fixture on the humble pedal push bike.Concepts, ideas, discussions, designs and prototypes have been explored while nurturing a professional team of qualified engineers and designers. The AtaraxyBSC (Bicycle Seat Company) was founded in February 2021 as the vehicle being used to realise the innovation from concept to reality. A project that I am compelled and committed to achieve.
