I serve as Head of Strategic Initiatives and Integration at Breakthrough Energy, a global network of climate leaders founded by Bill Gates who are committed to accelerating the world’s journey to a clean energy future through investment, philanthropy, and policy efforts.In this role, I serve as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team on ways to develop and execute new cross-organizational initiatives, in addition to developing long-term strategic plans for Breakthrough Energy.I previously led the U.S. policy team at Breakthrough Energy, overseeing 12 staff responsible for developing and implementing policy strategies, research and analysis, grant making, and government partnerships -- in key sectors such as power, industry, buildings, transportation, and agriculture. I am a recognized climate and energy policy expert, including giving testimony before the U.S. Congress.Before joining Breakthrough Energy, I led the energy innovation policy and grantmaking portfolio at Gates Ventures, the private office of Mr. Gates. I have also been a senior strategy consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, and a legislative aide in the United States Senate. I hold a Master of Public Policy from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from SMU. I am an experienced board member, and currently serve on the board of directors for the American Council on Renewable Energy, the advisory board for ClearPath Foundation, and the strategic council of Silverado Policy Accelerator. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to advocate for children who have faced abuse or neglect.
