• Responsible for the product management function of a leading SaaS based cyber security threat intelligence product, specializing in multiple areas related to digital risk protection• Managed an international team of product managers, working in close collaboration with engineering, design, various operations teams, sales, and client success to deliver products for clients representing most major industry verticals

As the company's first product hire, I was responsible for the strategy and development of Redscan’s main go to market product, ThreatDetect MDR, an award winning Managed Detection and Response service underpinned by leading SIEM and EDR technologies. I acted as the interface between various teams involved in the product development lifecycle and enabled coordination between the office of the CTO, R&D, Engineering, Software Development, and the SOC to name but a few.

Joining Optiv’s EMEA team as one of the first twenty employees presented a unique opportunity to help grow the company’s international footprint. I worked with large enterprise customers to determine what network, application, and data services matter to them most. Using this information, we then worked together to determine the level of security required to meet the risks they faced and architect solutions using Optiv services and vendor technologies to mitigate those risks. In addition to my role’s day to day responsibilities, I also worked on developing business processes that met the needs of the EMEA team. Drawing on previous experience, I also worked to develop multiple templated solutions for the European market to better serve our customers and support sales initiatives.

• Managed a multinational team responsible for numerous products and services related to cyber security threat management including: SIEM / SOC offerings, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and log management• Launched BT’s first AWS hosted B2B service platform, BT Security Cloud SIEM• Worked closely with our design and operations teams to develop a product roadmap and portfolio strategy that aligned to deliver company and customer objectives• Responsible for propositions and go to market strategy: working closely with marketing, sales, CTO, engineering, and individual product managers

Before focusing on cyber security I held various roles in organizations both technology focused and otherwise, including a business that I started myself. Many of these experiences have provided me with a broad set of skills relevant to the technology sector, but many others have supported my skills related to people management, effective mentorship, supporting the needs of a wide variety of stakeholders, and more.Some of the more interesting highlights in no particular order:I was an undergraduate research assistant in a Neuropathology lab for a year while doing my undergraduate degree where I helped support research into Parkinson's disease.I was a laboratory instructor for an undergraduate electrical engineering course where I was responsible for teaching technical writing skills to undergraduates along with other key EE skills and concepts (EE 316L. Electrical Networks Laboratory at the University of Alabama at Birmingham). I also gave the primary lecture on a few occasions which was more fun than people might assume.In the 2000's, I held roles as both a restaurant manager and a catering manager, and while not tech focused both roles helped me foster my people management skills early in my working life.Also in the 2000's, I started a small business focused on computer networking, IT support, and web design for small businesses.I was a web developer and IT support for a secondary school in the UK for a time where I developed internal applications to try and move towards a paperless office environment. I was also responsible for the implementation of a new IT backup and disaster recovery solution.I did a cover contract at King's College London in their IT department as on-site tier 2 support at their Denmark Hill campus just before starting my Master's degree.While getting my Master's degree I was contracted to develop the first version of an Android application for a start-up firm focused on health monitoring for the elderly.
