Formula 1 Reliability manager. I was responsible for both proactive and responsive control of the reliability of the Formula one engine that was supplied to McLaren F1. Also responsible for setting and controlling the specification of all race, track test and long run engines. I set up an acceptance procedure for specification change involving clear targets for long run and track test performance prior to race introduction. I was also leading a team of 5 engineers who controlled the pass of new design; build specification, concessions to build specification, failure investigation, new part batch approval and setting of component life criteria. I was responsible for the weekly engine specification meeting which pulled team leaders and department heads from all relevant parts of the company including, production, buying, development and design inorder to decide the short, medium and long term specification changes for the engine.I also held a weekly reliability meeting to run through problems and potential problems, and decide how the engineering team would address them.
