About Robin Lewis

Hi, I'm Robin! I am a second-year Civil Engineering and Society student at McMaster University, working to attain a Bachelor of Engineering & Society by 2027-29. I've developed a well-rounded set of skills in engineering, leadership, and collaboration through my experience in school, extracurriculars, and the workplace.I learned many of my skills in engineering and collaboration through the four years I spent on FIRST Robotics Competition Team 865 WARP7, where we would build robots weighing over 100 pounds and compete with them in a four-month competition season each year. I spent much of my time on the team working in strategy, awards, electrical, and leadership, and served as our strategy lead for two years, and a team co-captain for one year. Serving as our strategy lead in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, I helped shape the team's goals at the beginning of each season and devised plans for each competition. As our co-captain for the 2022-2023 season, I collaborated with fellow teammates to make critical decisions and oversaw team operations as well as the development and execution of our 2023 robot. I also spent much of my time on WARP7 fostering a more inclusive environment for students and helping to develop and present winning submissions for the Chairman's Award (now the Impact Award), which measures teams' overall positive impact in their community. In my experience with engineering, assistant teaching, and the arts, I've developed a diverse skill set that serves me well in academic and workplace settings alike. These include proficiency with technology, strong presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with other people towards a shared goal.Friends and colleagues often describe me as kind, inclusive, meticulous, and dedicated, and I'm always willing to put my all into the endeavours I pursue while leaving a positive impact in the spaces I find myself in.
