Robin Schmidt retired in June 2024 from a 27 year career with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. When she retired, she was serving as Director, Organizational Development for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and was responsible for initiating and providing consultation and support services to member organizations in AR, KS, OK, NM and TX; working in partnership with local BGCA-affiliated organizations to build and grow their capacity to have the greatest mission impact on youth ages 6-18.Robin successfully served as the lead facilitator for the Semi-Annual, 3-Day New Executive Orientation from 2011-2015. Robin served as a National Training Associate for 17 years, facilitating board & staff training to hundreds of organizations in the areas of Board Development, Resource Development, CEO Development, Individual Development Planning, & Program Development. Robin is a certified trainer and facilitator in The Grove Strategic Visioning tools and process. Robin received her certificate in Human Resource Management in 2019 from the University of Phoenix. In 2021, Robin successfully completed the Praesidium Guardian Certificate program and worked to drive Child Abuse Prevention and Child Safety Clubs across the entire Southwest region.Robin joined the BGCA national team in March 2008 as Director, Resource Development Club Services. Prior to joining the national organization Robin served as Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley in Alamosa, CO; Director of Marketing and Development for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County in Bellingham, WA; Unit Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cascade County, Great Falls, MT and Donor Relations Officer for the St. Joseph Hospital and the Whatcom Hospice Foundations in Bellingham, WA. Robin is an advocate for youth in her community and around the nation and is a member of Rotary International and Optimists International. In July of 2016, and June of 2024, Robin was awarded the President's Council Award, the highest level of recognition given to field facing staff by BGCA President & CEO, Jim Clark. In October of 2021, Robin was given the prestigious Jim Wetherington Southwesterner Award. Jim Wetherington served the BGCA Movement upholding the values of the national organization and promoting the Mission to youth and professionals for his entire career. The award was created to recognize professionals recognized for outstanding leadership. Robin is one of only 9 women to receive this Honor in 52 years.
