With an accounting and business background, starting my own business seemed less daunting and afforded me the opportunity to work as long and hard as I wanted while pursuing the things that most interest me. I started a commercial photography business in Houston in 1986 after studying photography in school and working as a free-lance assistant. From there, I gravitated toward fine art, selling pieces in galleries in San Diego with work on display at the San Diego Art Institute. My love of art began to lean toward functionality, and since I enjoy working with my hands, the transition to hand-made jewelry came easily. Why not make pieces I'd love to wear? Inspired by the beauty of natural stones and with a strong color sense, jewelry is something I will enjoy creating for a long time to come!
