In this role, I was responsible for strategic sourcing and procurement processes for Diagnostics Imaging, Labs, Research, and Nephrology categories in accordance with the Broader Public Sector (BPS) Directive across the corporate membership of 20 hospitals with the GTA. Additionally, I provided strategic direction, leadership, and operational support by overseeing a team of 8, consisting of Category Managers and Strategic Sourcing Specialists. In summary:➢ Lead the development and implementation of a Category Management model, structured to create true Category Strategies and develop team members into more strategic, pro-active partners for the hospitals we supported.➢ Identified opportunities to apply Innovative Procurement and Value-Based Procurement models and processes and mentored team members through several projects incorporating strategies such as pre-tender and competitive dialogue, capital life-cycle management, capitated pricing models, and strategic partnerships.

In this role, I was responsible for sourcing activities, negotiations, and management of the marketing, advertising, and HR services categories, as well as management of 3 direct report sourcing managers.In summary:➢ Managed all Marketing sourcing and negotiation activities for Sears Canada including flyer production, print, and distribution, radio advertising, online marketing, and media buying agency. Annual spend: $150M and target savings of $7M. ➢ Achieved approx. $7 savings through sourcing initiatives, Vendor audits, e-Auctions, and contract re-negotiations.➢ Initiated cost reduction programs through efficient and economic supplier base, standardization of services, value analysis, and use of corporate contractual agreements.

In this role, I was responsible for management, mentoring and team building of 12 global direct report buyers. Tasked with implementing and maintaining standards and procedures for company-wide procurement activities, maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements, and ethical standards related to purchasing and procurement.In summary:➢ Developed and lead implementation of standard ‘best practices’ processes for procurement, inventory, and storage management by balancing risk, cost, and simplicity utilizing Lean Sigma Tools. Drafted and published SOPs for all procurement and strategic sourcing processes➢ Established Vendor Payment Terms Review Program which improved overall payment terms and working capital by 32 % within a 3 month period➢ Implemented savings programs for demand management, maverick spend identification, benefits tracking, and low end sourcing within the procurement team that resulted in a 72% increase in overall savings. In this role, I was responsible for strategic sourcing activities and contract negotiations of IT software, chemicals, and laboratory equipment used in the development and testing of pharmaceutical drugs.In summary:➢ Successfully negotiated complex Master Agreements, Service Level Agreements, Enterprise Licensing Agreements, Hosting Services Agreements, and Outsourcing Agreements, with terms and conditions to support technology integration, performance measurement, risk management, source code escrow, issue management and service life-cycle management➢ Developed and managed a contract administration database for software agreements which included tracking critical contract dates, vendor commitments, and SLAs.➢ Personally achieved $3.5M in savings against a team target of $6.5M in fiscal 2008
