From May 2019, I conducted the roll out of Windows 10 hardware and software to the Argyle & Bute Estate (Southern Area) within the NHS Highland Health board initially in the Acute and hospital environment, moving on to Primary Care GP practices, Clinics and GDP’s. Replacing up to almost 1000 End of Life PC’s with new Windows 10 hardware and performing OS upgrades to in scope hardware where required. Installing and configuring printers, scanners and other medical peripherals to work with the new Operating system, and configuration of new and existing applications.Working in close contact with end users, department heads and the IT Support department to make the transition as smooth as possible while also minimising any potential down time and keeping any impact on Patient Care to a minimum.Using SCCM to ensure correct implementation of any bespoke build requirements. Making sure that existing and new applications are installed and configured to work in the new environment, and that they adhere to NHS Highland’s security policies.Use Active Directory (AD) to deploy the correct GPOs and add and remove systems and/or users to and from correct User Groups for access to shared drives, printers and allow Direct Access (DA) for laptop users. Removal, audit and decommissioning old IT equipment ready for disposal and/or recycling under the boards data destruction policy. Assisting end users with questions and training issues in the use of the new systems and Operating system.
