Deploying onboard a Portsmouth based Aircraft Carrier running a team of meteorologists who carry out meteorological observations and designated/related atmospheric information from the surroundings using a variety of meteorological equipment. Following strict standards and regulations as they apply to weather observations, oceanographic activity and the reporting of marine mammal and bird life seen from the ship. Meteorological Observer onboard an amphibious Landing ship.Carrying out meteorological observations onboard ship and ensuring the observations were encoded and transmitted properly to international meteorological bodies ashore. Launching Upper Air ascent balloons to gauge the atmosphere and how it would likely affect radar ranges for both ships and helicopters. When an incident did occur alerting the ships company as to the location and severity of incidents.
