Stryker is a large international company in the medical sector with headquarters in America but with European headquarters in Amsterdam, within my role I do work for both the headquarters in Amsterdam but also for various offices throughout Europe.My team currently consists of 4 people where support ranges from client issues to server support.I am also responsible for the procurement of IT equipment and services for Stryker Netherlands, this includes the equipment of users but also the (service) contracts with suppliers.Within Stryker Europe I am responsible for the purchase of the computers in use, for this I am in regular contact with the local IT departments to discuss the situations regarding the stock so that a timely response can be provided.In addition, I have been given the opportunity to start up local projects, for example, I recently successfully completed a project in Belgium where the outdated fax environment was upgraded to a cloud solution. In addition, I am closely involved in the implementation of large-scale projects such as building new floors in the office and performing upgrades on the network.As European headquarters we also have to deal with a lot of VIP support, the VIPs in the building expect a high level of support but especially when management visits from America the expectations are very high.

At Tatasteel I started as a Service Desk employee and I got the opportunity to grow to the function of Service Desk Coordinator.In this function I was, together with 3 colleagues, responsible for the operational side of the service desk. The service desk consists of about 30 people where the support was mainly done by phone.The service desk is of vital importance within this company as the support of the service desk covers various production systems, which means that incidents with a high impact/priority occur regularly.During this period I was able to gain a lot of experience in managing and motivating/stimulating the service desk employees and also in monitoring and interpreting trends at the service desk. My tasks included;Ensuring service desk availabilitySecuring KPI'sProvide support to employees at the service deskMonitoring trends regarding incidents/requestsMonitoring escalations and incidents with a high impactMaintain contact with various international teamsDeveloping process improvements

In my first project in IT, I worked as a back-office employee in the department of fiberglass connections at KPN. The team of employees was responsible for the order flow and in case of errors in the orders/systems, it was up to the back-office employees to solve this.This function included the proper management of the technical aspect of the orders that came through, this happened from an in-house developed system where the information was passed in XML format.At the start of this project there was a significant backlog in processing the incidents in this system, therefore I started working on a tool to automatically pick up the common incidents.Partly because of this, the workload was relieved in a short time so that there was room/time to check the processes and improve them where necessary.
