I concentrate my practice in complex civil and securities litigation, particularily in the area of corporate governance. I was part of the litigation teams in In re Merrill Lynch Securities Litigation ($475 million settlement); In re Rite Aid Securities Litigation ($334 million settlement), In re Sunbeam Securities Litigation ($142 million settlement), and In re CMS Energy Securities Litigation ($200 million settlement). With my colleague Larry Deutsch, I represented certain shareholders of the PHLX in the Delaware Court of Chancery ($99 million settlement). In another state court action, I was lead counsel for a class of shareholders of InKine Pharmaceutical who were denied their preemptive rights in a series of issuances ($9 million settlement). I have also pursued claims on behalf of liquidating trusts bringing actions against officers, directors and auditors of insolvent companies. These actions resulted in recoveries of $4.5 million (Sunterra) and $4 million (U.S. Aggregates) for the liquidating trusts. I serve as a as a director on the Joint Board of Community Legal Services, Inc. of Philadelphia and PLA. In addition, I serve as a volunteer guide at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and on the Women's Committee and Craft Show Committee which benefits the museum.Specialties: With my background in real estate and serving as chairman of the board of a small community bank, I have been called upon to be involved in multiple litigations arising out of the recent financial crisis, such as Lehman, Citi and a case involving two offerings by Goldman Sachs. I recently spoke on the subject for NERA in a conference in Washington, D.C. I also have been involved recently with some whistleblowers who filed with the IRS and the SEC, an interesting emerging area.
