Robin Upton has more than 20 years extensive public and private sector experience in the day-to-day management of planning services. His experience includes the negotiation of a wide range of complex and high profile planning applications where understanding of the detailed town planning implications has been critical. It also includes the preparation of development plan policies, supplementary planning guidance and the strategic promotion land for future development.Robin is experienced in the preparation of appeal statements and the presentation of evidence at hearings and inquiries. He has presented major planning applications to Planning Committees and has extensive project management and Section 106 negotiation experience. Robin has acted as the project lead on a number of high profile development proposals, including the coordination of EIA and public/stakeholder exhibitions.

After a background in Local Authority development control planning, Robin joined a local planning consultancy that was subsequently acquired by WYG.
