Robin Vitale is the Vice President of Community Impact for the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association in New York City, overseeing all of the mission-related strategy for the organization in the five boroughs. Her role includes advancing the objectives of the AHA’s community impact and advocacy strategy, focused on building healthier lives, free from cardiovascular disease and stroke for all New Yorkers. Working in partnership with a group of energized volunteers and coalition partners, Robin’s tenure with the American Heart Association has resulted in many public health measures being implemented as law. Some examples of these achievements include several innovative tobacco control policies, the requirement of Hands-Only CPR training for high school students in New York, and the PE Reporting Law which has instigated numerous improvements in physical education for city schools.Robin received her BA in Psychobiology from Drew University and her MAT, specializing in Secondary Biology from The College of New Jersey. Her efforts related to health advocacy have been featured in numerous media outlets, including Woman’s Day magazine, CNN and Discovery Channel.
