I apply an Indigenous lens to identify complex issues and develop solutions to address systematic challenges within child and family services provided to Indigenous youth in Alberta. In this role, I use culturally appropriate practices to research, grant management, and program evaluation, ensuring that government systems were responsive to community needs. Where necessary, I implement change management by using a trauma-informed approach when engaging with external stakeholders, staying informed on trends across all levels of government, and identifying systems-level issues to collaborate on solutions that create meaningful impact.I advance province-wide initiatives in a relational way with community-based organizations and non-profit agencies. This involves supporting organizations in developing governance structures through collaborative practices and providing capacity building as needed. My support includes building organization-specific frameworks, establishing advisory committees, creating multi-year grant programs, developing evaluation strategies, and facilitating conflict resolution. Additionally, I support the success and “Indigenization” of programs that impact Indigenous youth, in collaboration with external stakeholders.
