25 enjoyable years in Banking and Finance specializing in Risk and Compliance. Initial experience involved small to medium ticket financing with a range of new and innovative products. Moved to Saudi Arabia where I established a J/V finance company between a large group and a major Commercial Bank specialising in retail and M&SME financing.Moved into the Credit Bureau industry in 1997 when I set up the first Arabic/English Bureau in the Middle East [Kuwait] where 26 institutions subscribed to the service. Later was requested to establish a bespoke Credit Bureau in Bahrain under the supervision of their Central Bank for their 35 Banks. Designed the architecture and developed a core system to centralise Credit Risk Management. This provided banks with the front office application process for new business and exisiting CRM, back office risk management information for compliance, strategy management and debt recovery. First Bureau to be interfaced with consumer and corporate with a focus on SME business with innovative financial plans. Assisted consumers manage credit more effectively and introduced services to protect consumer rights. Bureau provided consolidate data to enable banks to reconcile their position with the country statistics so they could mitigate risk or widen their market with products which the bureau recommended were viable.
