I'm passionate about the application of science and technology to solve the most difficult challenges. I love to help technology companies and businesses grow and evolve to meet these challenges. Analytical and insightful, my key strength is the ability is to join the dots where others get bogged down in detail. I'm massively interested in people - what makes them tick and how businesses can get more value from innovation and stay ahead. My biggest achievements are landing deals in the private sector knowing how crucial a role I played in making things happen, from conceiving an idea to building it, nurturing relationships and building a team, bringing my sense of fun and zest for problem solving. My passion is impactful technology exploitation and making it happen in collaborative teams. My other big achievement is being a Dad to two amazing little girls, they take up all my time and attention and I wouldn't have it any other way #outnumbered. I was born in Northern Ireland but after moving to the South of England at age 12, I went to Bishop Wordsworth's School in Salisbury. I left home for Bath University and studied Chemistry, which gave me a good grounding in the scientific method. Later, I did a part-time Masters degree when I was working full time at Dstl (UK MOD) during the 2000's. After many happy years where I met my future wife, I left the public sector in 2014 and joined the private sector, where I found out that I thrived being more entrepreneurial and creative, solving problems, shaping proposals and winning new business. In my current role, I am working at Roke at the cutting edge of science and technology in sensing, sensor fusion, autonomy and AI. Working with some of the best minds in the business, I create and develop new business opportunities based on world class IP, I help clients to innovate, solve the most complex problems and help them to stay ahead in an uncertain and rapidly evolving world. I am educated to Masters degree level at the Defence Academy, I'm a Chartered Chemist and Member of the IET (BSc Hons, MSc, MRSC CChem, MIET).
