With over 25 years of work experience in international development and financial services, Robin Young is a seasoned leader, advisor, and innovator in the field. She is currently the Chief of Party for the Colombia Equitable Finance project at DAI, where she oversees the implementation of a $28 million USAID-funded initiative to improve access to finance for small and medium enterprises, women, and rural populations in Colombia. She is passionate about leveraging private capital for development impact, and aligns her work with DAI's mission to make a lasting difference in the world.Prior to her current role, Robin was the Senior Principal Global Practice Specialist for DAI, where she led the development of the INVEST project, a $167 million platform for mobilizing investment for development across sectors and regions. She served as the Senior Investment Adviser for the project, working with partners to identify, structure, and facilitate investments in health, clean energy, water and sanitation, agriculture, and small and growing businesses in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. She also provided technical guidance and support to DAI's global portfolio of investment and financial services projects and engagements, drawing on her expertise in microfinance, blended finance, impact investing, and financial inclusion. She has extensive experience working with donors, investors, financial institutions, governments, and private sector actors in developing and frontier markets. She has published articles and reports on blended finance and development impact, and has spoken at various industry events and forums. She is fluent in English and Spanish, and holds an MBA in Finance from Georgetown University and a BA in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University.
