My current official title does not accurately convey my skill set in the areas of employee engagement, talent attraction, development, and retention, as well as training/learning strategies, UX, and change management. I am so much more than a “technical writer,” who is already a person who wears many “hats” in the role. While my daily tasks focus on writing/content creation and management, I love to build relationships and drive culture change. Some of what I do/have done:Work directly with Engineers, Product Managers. and Marketing to create and edit product datasheets, installation and user manuals, online help, technical bulletins, test report summaries, A&E specifications, white papers, and other documents that are user friendly and as intuitive as possible.Mentor junior members of the global technical writing team for the Video business unit. Share best practices, tips and tricks, product knowledge, and knowledge of team and company processes and procedures, as the writers adapt to writing using metadata, variables, established writing styles, and Simplified Technical English (STE), as well as to reusing common fragments of content as much as possible across multiple documents and/or products. Collaborate with fellow writers, product information team members, and Product Management and Marketing personnel at all levels to align terminology and the order of data in documentation.Manage the Bosch side of projects to translate English documentation into 12+ languages. Create export files, upload them to translation vendor's web portal; create requests for POs; approve invoices. Answer queries about terminology and context for translators and proofreaders.Shared with the global team several examples of content rewritten to comply with the rules of STE.Hired new team members.

• Provided first-level support as needed to fellow ST4 users. • Wrote and edited “Knowledge Base” articles in Technical Communicator Wiki in Confluence. • Co-wrote and edited ST4 User Guide as a reference for Technical Communicators.

Led the eight-member Content Creation team that defined and executed a strategy for content development and delivery that drives business results.With team, established the writing standards and content management processes, and created the current style guide for the global technical writing team in Bosch Security Systems.Facilitated brainstorming sessions with Content Creation team members during annual workshops.

I have grown in my career with a series of positions of increasing responsibility, from customer order service representative to SAP trainer (in-classroom) to editor of an alumni newsletter to principal-level Technical Writer. In each position, I learned both hard and soft skills that serve me well in my current position and any future positions.
