Conflict Resolution Mediation

Conflict Resolution Center, Lancaster, Pa

Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Mediation is often the best first choice when you decide you need the help of a someone else. Mediation is a private affair. Most people and organizations don't want their dirty laundry aired out for all to see. Additionally, a mediator will not make a decision for you, which allows you and the other person to remain in control in resolving your dispute.A resolution that is voluntarily agreed to by the disputing parties is usually the best type of resolution because everybody leaves the resolution with something, even if it's not everything they wanted. This is especially helpful if the disputing parties will have to work with each other in the future. Finally, mediation is not a dead end; if it fails, you can move to other options that we will discuss below.

Divorce & Family Mediation

Conflict Resolution Center, Lancaster, Pa

Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Family and divorce mediation ("family mediation" or "mediation") is a process in which a mediator, an impartial third party, facilitates the resolution of family disputes by promoting the participants’ voluntary agreement. The family mediator assists communication, encourages understanding and focuses the participants on their individual and common interests. The family mediator works with the participants to explore options, make decisions and reach their own agreements.Family mediation is not a substitute for the need for family members to obtain independent legal advice or counseling or therapy. Nor is it appropriate for all families. However, experience has established that family mediation is a valuable option for many families.
