Helped grow & scale this unicorn, in it's earliest days. Came in to stand up recruiting department, filled 60 roles singlehandedly w/in 6 months. Ran 90% of people operations/human resources. We partnered with world class companies such as Samsung, Fiserve, WorldPay & Johnston Controls. We changed the game in fast, casual restaurants & retail through smart solutions in AI & IoT. I left them at a good time -we hired brilliant people, scaled the org, turned the business into a unicorn that had potential to 10X w/in a few years. 3 weeks before the very first TEDx was to come to Palm Beach County I joined the team of organizers. Helped bring this TEDx to South Florida against overwhelming odds, with the help of many people & organizations. I raised more than 70% of funding, fostered commUNITY support, recruited expert team of volunteers in to help with Social Media, Photography, TV/Film production, organizing & event planning. That team drew in 20+ bloggers to share the talks with the world real-time. Our team's efforts resulted in nearly 20K actively engaged people around the world (in less than 2 weeks of beginning a social media campaign). The more meaningful result, however, came through stories we heard from the attendees & speakers. Businesses were created, alliances & partnerships were forged & jobs were created from this one day experience. TEDx are local TED-like events that allow civic discourse & deep conversations with ‘ideas worth spreading’. Although to call TEDx an event doesn’t do it justice, you see TEDx are not merely events they are an EXPERIENCE...sometimes referred to as an 'intellectual banquet'.
