Robin has a PhD in Dietetics and is currently an associate professor and the Program leader for Dietetics at the North-West University. Prior to becoming a lecturer in 2007, she worked as a dietitian at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. During her 11 years at the hospital, she mostly worked in the paediatric wards gaining valuable experience in infant and young child feeding and in-house training of dietetic students. Her main area of expertise is therapeutic nutrition, in particular in the critically ill and severe acute malnutrition in children. She is passionate about the capacity building of nutrition professionals.
