Responsible for developing, running, documenting and securing COVID-19 vaccination registration systems and other systems handling the generation of QR codes under exceptional circumstances during the pandemic requiring 100% population coverage. Coordinated closely with Security, Legal, Privacy, Ops, Policy, Political and EU. Member of the RDO Change Advisory Board (CAB). Responsible for helping set up a departmental QA, helpdesk, CSIRT and restructuring the VLA into a semi-agile methodology within the Agile / ITIL environment. Prepared the open sourcing of ~15 repositories. Involved in FMEAs and DPIAs which resulted in changing the Dutch law several times in order to be able to develop the required solutions.

Working with various customers, especially in the USA, Germany, the Netherlands and Finland to coordinate their stakeholders, project choices, development and implementations with the development teams in the Hague, Voorburg and Rotterdam in the Netherlands as well as in Zagreb and Split in Croatia.

Managing the development and deployment of the next generation of software to monitor laboratory sensors. XiltriX International is based in San Diego, USA and is specialised in supplying laboratory monitoring solutions. For their client Einstein, around 400 sensors needed to be installed in 8 laboratories in New York concurrently with the development of the next generation of monitoring software, which was developed in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and Zagreb, Croatia. Each team worked in an independent but scaled agile environment

Focusing on core business means that many IT processes, which have become convoluted and outdated, can more effectively be outsourced to cloud platforms. This will greatly simplify the maintenance and updates of these systems, allowing a savings of almost two FTE to be made whilst increasing capability. During the transfer of these processes, an audit trail must be kept in accordance with pharmaceutical regulations.

Voorburg

The Huygens Festival is a free classical music festival that runs for three days in Voorburg to promote new talent, showcase amateur muzicians and offer high quality professional entertainment over several venues in the city.

MyCOA is an agile project created to inform refugees digitally instead of by paper, thereby reducing the amount of paper used (by approx 1m sheets per year) and the amount of contact moments at the receptions of COA locations (of which there are more than 80). As 98% of refugees have smartphones, the system is mobile first. Each refugee centre receives their own version of the system containing a mix of locally offered content as well as centrally supplied content. Automated test scripts were written and user story tests were coordinated regularly with four reference locations and their managers. From the tests, new requirements were drawn up and implemented in an iterative agile / scrum process. Interfacing with the programmers and project manager and drawing up requirements were performed on a daily basis. The system was audited to governmental Webrichtlijnen 2.0 and NCSC ICT-Beveiligingsrichtlijnen voor Webapplicaties standards. Documentation for the whole system was written up for both users and software administrators after delivery. Prior to delivery, workshops were developed and taught to all location managers involving the functionalities as well as content guidelines: all locations needing to keep their own content relevant. As of jan 17, the system is in use in 52 locations with 120 content suppliers.

VOORwerk is a training program for permit holders who are still living in a COA reception centre. The training helps them increase their chances on the labour market.Created the functional design for the project together with the end client and programmers and wrote the necessary documentation (risk and privacy analyses) in order to have the project funded and approved within the organisation. Helped manage the software development, as well as testing the end product and interfacing with the end customer to deliver the product successfully to a live environment. Wrote the documentation for the product for delivery to the software administration department. The software is currently in use at ten COA locations.

With more than 50 offices in 35 different countries, the Outpost Network provides professional information – in addition to HR services – on most aspects of living abroad in specific locations where Shell operates. Personal milestones include creating the political will and releasing the funds for new systems to homogenise tooling for the individual Outposts and so provide a clear view of the performance of the network as a whole; creating a clearer valuation of the activities of the network; decreasing the amount of “lost” partners during relocations; increasing the buy-in by Shell HR (at global and local levels) in Outpost; launching a new way of thinking about service delivery with joint ventures and monetisation of the underlying network value.

Taking the 2014 – 2015 course as a base, all the subjects within the minor were redeveloped and taught together with Hans de Raad. The course was built around a fictional requirement, for which 60 business and IT students had to realise the documentation, risk analysis and software development in ten separate groups. Guest lecturers from within the IT security profession were attracted to give lectures and the subjects ranged from highly technical (secure coding) to business oriented (security frameworks) to ethics.

Westvliet, The Hague

In 2015 the annual openSUSE conference was held in the Hague, at Westvliet. As project lead I organised a 4 day event with 250 visitors and speakers from all over the world, covering a wide range of subjects ranging from packaging workshops to security and legal talks. Social events were also held, with the visitors interacting with a wide range of people and meeting - in some cases for the first time - others that they were collaborating on projects with. Responsibilities included organising the location, events, food, internet, network, speakers, planning, speaker desk - basically everything including the kitchen sink!

Westvliet, The Hague

The first ever Kolab Summit was held together with the openSUSE conference in the Netherlands. For this summit I acted as project co-lead, responsible for the location, speakers, social events, planning, etc.

Web based job vacancy / applicant software:With the experience gained at Tripany building large job search websites for USG People (the 2nd largest job placement agency worldwide) Tripany created software specifically for this market implementing all the lessons learned. The software placed jobs on the corporate website as well as distributing to different job search websites, social media and search engine optimised. Uniquely, job applications were collected centrally.

Tripany BV is a full service web based software company, encompassing web presence strategy, marketing, goal measurement, functional, graphic and animation design, implementation and hosting. The systems developed by Tripany ranged across many different sectors - such as accountancy for product recycling and psychological tests and scoring - as well as across many different technologies, ranging from data coupling with external systems to digital (touch) screens and mobile. Tripany took an agile / scrum approach to development, using full development, testing, acceptance and production infrastructure to ensure continuity.Robin Edgar mainly managed company strategy, business development, price point fixing, human resources, archival systems, pre-sales requirements inventory, customer and supplier negotiations, project description, management, implementation and review. He was also in control of HR and the choice of innovative technologies to focus on as well as technical implementation of the IT infrastructure.

Website design, creation and hosting:Started out building simple static websites and rapidly expanded to hosting the websites on internal infrastructure. Towards the end of the year large companies were approaching WebInnovators for websites and the focus turned to building web based software. In order to expand, the portfolio was moved to Tripany BV.
