Qualifications The knowledge to analyze patrons'​ requests to determine needed information, and assist in furnishing or locating that information. • The expertise to quickly compile lists of books, periodicals, articles, and audiovisual materials on particular subjects. • The know-how to proficiently plan and teach classes on topics such as information literacy, library instruction, and technology use. • An understanding of how to search standard reference materials, including online sources and the Internet, to answer patrons'​ reference questions.Skills and Duties• Locate and obtain materials for patrons within the library, via phone, remote chat and email.• Assist and instruct patrons on the use of the library's electronic resources.• Place ILL loans. • Assess, select, purchase and deselect all of the adult film, fiction, audio books, music and some non-fiction.• Assist in the selection, purchase and loading of the library's e-reader selections.• Assist staff and patrons with common computer and software issues.• Staff liaison to the library’s technical consultant.• Hire, train and supervise pages and volunteers.• Served as Readers Advisory.• Collaborate in the brainstorming and implementation of adult and family programming.• Write, design and collaborate in the creation of the library's newsletter.• Create and produce instructional materials (tutorials, bibliographies and pathfinders).• Create and produce promotional materials (flyers, displays and press releases). • Collaborate in the creation and implementation of library policy.• Proctor exams• Communicate with suppliers and vendors.
