Everything you read next is what I do to make a living, and I am beyond proud of our accomplishments. As a professional, these things are certainly important. With that said it all plays second fiddle to my role of a lifetime as a single mother to my beautiful children, Gary and Julia. All I do is for them. I have spent more than 20 years inspiring people to think something new about their everyday work life and have shown where my love of data can help them improve. As co-founder and partner of ThinkData Solutions, Inc., I work to encourage people to invest in themselves and never stop learning. Along with my business partner Daniel Bishop, we have built a woman- and minority-owned business that serves not only our local community of Birmingham, Alabama but much to my delight, we have built a national and international audience as well. Since 2011, at ThinkData, I have had the opportunity to develop problem-solving systems, automate processes, and provide valuable business intelligence to our clients. As a team, we have developed customized curricula that offer a path to a data analytics career and a great starting point into data analytics. I feel like I have developed effective, practical courses for LinkedIn Learning. My recorded instruction “Learning Data Analytics” is included in the data analyst career learning path of opportunity.linkedin.com, the collaboration of Linkedin, Microsoft, and GitHub to offer free skills development learning. We are also honored to work with Innovate Birmingham to fill the shortage of data analysts in Birmingham by developing a curriculum for and instructing the ThinkData Solutions’ Data Analytics Bootcamp. We have an ongoing partnership with the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education and the Alabama Department of Education. ThinkData provides datasets that meet the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Acts to a research team that includes the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama, the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health, UAB School of Education, and the University of Alabama. Through ThinkData, I have found a way to combine my love for teaching and technical skills as a developer. As a creator, I specialize in data design, data modeling, process development, data management, and customized workflow solutions. As an educator, I focus on all things inspiring others to deepen their knowledge of data, or just consider it as their next play in technology.
