Direct the Aetna Pharmacy Drug Utilization Review (DUR) application, a retrospective drug utilization review program that calssifies 14 different drug-related situations to either improve the health and safety of members or to save them money, with increasing reduction in drug spend.• Developed a common structure and strategy to split cases into reviewed and non-reviewed queues and defined criteria for five clinical programs using the structure to mimic the clinical pharmacist review and create non-reviewed cases for automation, resulting in a 63% reduction in pharmacist reviewed cases.• Coordinated internal and external team tasks for migrating the DUR program from an AIX UNIX server to a LINUX UNIX server. Migrated 230 Korn shell scripts, 23 control files, 38 SQL files, and the Crontab, and coordinated the critical timing of inbound file FTPs with no impact to the user or the batch cycle.

Managed, led and guided the IT team of up to 12 individuals to effectively and efficiently research, evaluate, recommend, implement, maintain, and enhance technologies that are used in the DUR application. Create simple PL/SQL queries to satisfy user requests for information. • Supported all aspects of the migration of the DUR application software, hardware, data, and personnel from CVS/Pharmacare to Aetna with minimal impact to the user and IT community.• Developed 5 new clinical programs in an aggressive 9 months and added 5 team members while managing the existing production. The new programs improved the health and safety of our members and avoided drug costs by reducing prescriptions dispensed.

Led the retrospective drug utilization review (DUR) application for CVS/Caremark and Eckerd Drug directing a team of 7 developers and analysts in coordinating daily operations. As a system and business analyst for the DUR application, created simple PL/SQL queries to validate the loaded data. Performed business analysis, development, validation and implementation of a Contract Management System. • Upgraded the PowerBuilder software for the DUR application from version 7.5 to 10.0 and the Oracle database from 9i to 10g without impact to the users or the batch cycle.
